Wildhammer Clan

The Wildhammer Clan is a group of dwarves that have had a somewhat rocky relationship with the Alliance. At one point in the clan's history, they sought to take control of Ironforge. They lost a battle between the Bronzebeard Clan who had allied themselves with the dark iron dwarves. After this defeat, the Wildhammer Clan wandered, eventually settling in the Twilight Highlands and created their own kingdom near Grim Batol. During this time, the dark iron dwarves sought revenge for atrocies commited over the battle for Ironforge and attacked both the Bronzebeard Clan as well as the Wildhammer Clan. The dark iron sorceress, Modgud, led the attack against Grim Batol. Though she was ultimately defeated, the dark magic she used made Grim Batol unhabitable for the dwarves who then migrated to the Hinterlands. During the second war between the Horde and the Alliance, the Wildhammer Clan sided with the Alliance, though still distrustful of other dwarves. In recent times, the chief of the Wildhammer Clan, Falstad Wildhammer, has been asked to served in the Council of Three Hammers, ruling over Ironforge. This gesture has firmly cemented the Wildhammer Clan as part of the Alliance.
