Stormwing City is the capital of Stormwind, the highest populated human city. It also one of the last free standing human cities. Because of what it represents, it has been attacked and destroyed on numerous occasions. It was sacked during the second war between the Horde and Azeroth. It was then rebuilt only to be destroyed again by Deathwing. It was originally founded by knights and clerics and has been ruled over by the Wrynn family since it's foundation. Stormwind City is home to the Cathedral of Light, an awe inspiring, spiritual epicenter. Many of Azeroth's most revered spiritual leaders can be found at the Cathedral of Light. One of the most impressive sights of the city is when you first walk through her gates. Lining the pathway to the heart of the city is the Valley of Heroes, a series of five statues depicting important Alliance heroes. King Anduin Wrynn is the current leader of Stormwind City following the death of his father, Varian Wrynn at the hands of the Burning Legion.
