The Sunreavers

The Sunreavers are a group of Blood Elves loyal to the Horde that sought admittance to the Kirin Tor. They were eventually successful, much to the chagrin of the Silver Covenant. They fought alongside both Horde and Alliance forces in the battle against the Lich King. After Garrosh Hellscream assumed command of the Horde, Varian Wrynn sought to have the Sunreavers kicked out of the Kirin Tor, wanting to weaken the Warchief at any cost. To accomplish this goal, Varian Wrynn requested the aid of Jaina Proudmoore. She refused, citing no evidence of why the Sunreavers should be expelled. During this time Garrosh Hellscream sought to invade Darnassus using the Sunreaver portals in Dalaran to bypass the wards that Jaina Proudmoore had set up. His campaign was successful thanks to the loyalty of a few dissenting members of the Sunreaver and Garrosh Hellscream was able to steal the Divine Bell. Once evidence emerged of Sunreaver involvement in the escapade, Jaina Proudmoore exiled the Sunreavers and imprisoned their leader, Aethes Sunreaver in the Violet Citadel. When the Burning Legion attacked Dalaran, Aethas Sunreaver seeks out the legendary fire mage weapon, Felo'melorn, to be used against the Burning Legion. Once the staff is located and secured, Aethas makes his case for readmittance, a case that is accepted by the Kirin Tor, thus allowing the Sunreavers to return to Dalaran.
